The ScotteVest has been on my radar for a while. I hesitated because I was afraid it would look really dorky on me. Finally, I bought the Featherweight version for a Safari trip to Africa.I have to say that it actually looks quite nice (as much as that's possible considering the wearer) and allows me to safely store all sorts of documents, money, phone, earbuds, e-reader, etc, etc. The carrying capacity of the vest is particularly useful when carry-on luggage is restricted (like on the small plane safari flights). The choice of the featherweight version was the right one for me - not just for a warm destination like Africa. It's substantial enough to provide some warmth without being too stifling. The only downside is the price, but you get what you pay for. Also, there is always the risk of taking it off and leaving it behind; not that I would ever do that (sigh).
